"I just wanted to tell you thanks so much for the wonderful plein air workshop in Sedona. It was everything I had hoped it would be. The instruction was very valuable and I will practice it regularly to improve my paintings. Thanks for keeping the class small so everyone could receive equal instruction. We couldn't ask for a better experience."
Paint the Southwest Workshops | Plein Air Painting Maine Workshops | Workshops for Art Groups
July-August, 2018: Lubec, Maine
**WORKSHOPS WILL BE TAUGHT ONLY IN LUBEC**
Join Michael in beautiful Downeast Maine! Lubec and adjacent Campobello Island offer a wealth of material for the painter like nowhere else: quiet beaches, bold cliffs, working fishing villages and more. Michael has been painting the area for over 10 years and will share with you some of his favorite locations. For details, schedules and to register for one of these plein air painting workshops in Lubec, Maine, visit the Plein Air Painting Maine site at www.PleinAirPaintingMaine.com .
As with the Sedona workshops, you'll get lots of personal attention because Michael limits the workshop to typically no more than four students. Workshops last four days (Tuesday-Friday) from 9-1 each day, with critiques and lectures in the studio followed by on-location demonstrations and student work. In the afternoons, you may either paint on your own (he will gladly give you location suggestions) or explore the area's many restaurants, shops and natural scenery.
Michael offers all-level plein air instruction in the summertime. He will also gladly create a customized workshop for a group. For full details and to check openings, please visit www.PleinAirPaintingMaine.com. (Schedule is subject to change up until first sign-up for a week.) **Passport, passport card or enhanced driver's license recommended for 2018 season**

1. Private Intensive Study. Based in scenic northern New Mexico at Michael's winter studio, this program is for intermediate, advanced or professional painters only. After a preliminary consultation with Michael to create a custom program, you'll work with him side-by-side, one-on-on, both in the field and in the studio. Includes six nights' lodging at the studio and three meals a day, with private bed and bath.
2. All-Level Group Workshops. The original "Paint Sedona" program. Michael will teach small groups (no more than 8) the important fundamentals of plein air painting. Any level of student is welcome and in any medium. Workshops will be based in the beautiful red rock country of Sedona, Arizona, and elsewhere in the Southwest. Includes four half-days of tuition.
